Imagine someone “getting” you immediately. Now imagine that person articulating your vision, goals, and strengths better than you can. This is what it’s like to work with Edythe Richards.

As a career counselor, nationally recognized expert on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®), and Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW), Edythe has helped thousands of Baby Boomers, Veterans, Recent College Grads, Immigrants, and Mid-Career Adults locate and sustain meaningful employment.

Edythe has been featured on Fairfax Radio, GreenSuits Radio, and Leaders in Energy, as well as in CareerMetis, Social Hire, Things Career Related, and Career Cloud. She is frequently a featured speaker at many events in the greater Washington, DC Metro, particularly in Arlington County, Virginia, where she leads workshops and seminars on Resume Writing, Career Transition, Emotional Intelligence, and others. Edythe is known for being an authentic, truthful, and humorous speaker, as well as an individual of tremendous goodwill and integrity.

Edythe’s passion is working with Career Changers – helping individuals identify their ideal careers and empowering them on their paths forward. Under-employed and unsatisfied employees of all levels and backgrounds – in the DC Metro and beyond – seek out Edythe’s Executive Coaching expertise to get their professional lives on track.

“We spend over 50% of our waking time at work. Shouldn’t that be doing something we love?” –Edythe Richards

The key predictor of career success? Edythe believes it is Emotional Intelligence. “Despite having the right credentials, there are some people who just can’t seem to progress in their careers,” Edythe says. “These are often people who lack personal and/or social awareness, are easily frustrated, or come across as negative or unmotivated. Fortunately, these are traits that can be learned.” Not so long ago, it was taboo to talk about emotions in the workplace. Today, Edythe leverages the power of emotions to enhance her clients’ performance. She uses the EQ-i 2.0/EQ-i 360 assessments, which quantify the 16 “soft skills” most associated with personal and professional success. Edythe is a certified Emotional Intelligence Coach and Trainer.

Edythe proudly supports the efforts of “green” (clean energy, sustainability, environmentally-friendly) professionals worldwide. Having lived in 3 countries outside the US, Edythe is acutely aware of and sensitive toward cultural assumptions and stereotypes, doing her best to suspend judgment and give everyone the same level of empathy and courtesy. She is an avid animal lover, volunteer, and birth-right Quaker. When not working, Edythe enjoys biking and globetrotting with Richard, her partner of 5+ years.
